My name is Bobby Brown. I have a burning passion to embrace our natural human experience on earth. Right now I am doing that through travel, being outside, and connection with people. Currently I spend most of my time on planet earth being propelled by natural forces, learning new things and connecting with people.
Wait being propelled by natural forces ? For the last three years I have been on two separate but connected journeys. Learning to surf and learning to navigate rafts on some of our planets wildest rivers. Both of these activities involve using the natural energy of mother nature to connect with our planet and bring joy to humanity. Outside of these two I love anything outside hiking, mountain biking, camping.
I feet that I have been inordinately blessed with the opportunity to step outside the fabric of ever so tamed society. With this opportunity I feel a great weight of responsibility to share what I have learned and to help others find a way to do the same.

Growing up in the midwest, I loved the outdoors but my younger years were not filled with draw dropping beautiful landscapes. Instead I found connections in the landscapes around me. To this day one of my favorite places on earth is a small ridge overlooking the town I grew up in. When I moved out west I had never mountain biked, skied, surfed, or even backpacked to campsite. Through these activities I found a rich sense of understanding of our home planet and through that I found a deeper connection to myself.
I slowly eased into different outdoor activities upon moving to Colorado. Starting with car camping and short day hikes. Then I started multi day backpacking trips, river tubing and mountain biking. Near the end of my second summer in the Rocky Mountains I started to come out of a mild depression that lasted about 5 years. I started to feel a passion towards life again but I wasn’t able to put my finger on exactly what it was. I kept saying to my partner, “what if we lived nowhere”. I wasn’t entirely sure what I meant by that but the more joy I found in the outdoors, the more I loathed the drive back to the city after a weekend of adventure. Then boom, it happened, a man whose name I’ll never know changed my life and completed this idea of living nowhere.
In the permit office of Rocky Mountain National Park we started talking about the different hikes we were setting off on. I asked the guy where he lives and boom he said it, he said “I don’t know really, my friend has a permit for the grand canyon next month so just working my way there”. There it was , this guy who to me seemed totally normal, just told me he lives nowhere. I was so excited about the idea I spent the whole backpacking trip thinking about it. I thought maybe we could live out of our Prius. I started imaging myself on open roads, driving up mountain passes and cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway. The Prius became a van, the family added 2 dogs and about 3 years nearly to the day of that backpacking trip we set off on the road.
Thanks for reading and I hope my. words can educate, inspire or uplift you to live a life that oozes stoke at every turn. Through this page I will share personal stories from my adventures as well as things I think that could help others follow a similar journey.
